Fw Karl Ludwig

Does anyone have any information on this chap. He was a pilot, possibly with a recce unit, and awarded the Ehrenpokal in September 1943

Spanferkel is on a distinguished road
Re: Fw Karl Ludwig

Chris,

He was with a recon unit, at least at the time of his EP award. Someone is selling his EP doc., see link below. They may have done some additional research into his career.

A Karl Ludwig (FF) (don't know his rank) was MIA 20Aug43 with 2.(F)/Nacht flying Do 217K-1 (4471; K7+FK). Don't know if this is your man.

Re: Fw Karl Ludwig

That Karl Ludwig was a Feldwebel too. Don't know if he was the same guy, but seems likely.

Re: Fw Karl Ludwig

Thanks Gentlemen. Seems like him. Reported missing 20 Aug 43 and then gets the Pokal 13 Sep 43. 2 of his crew also had the Pokal (Oblt Guenther Weigt 26 Jul 43 and Fw Edgar Kubisch 28 Feb 44). It appears they suffered an engine failure and force-landed SE Kritschew and are reported missing; there was no further notes as to their fates so hopefully the NVM will help

Chris,

If you find anything more out about Karl Ludwig's career I'd be interested to know.

Cheers

Andy: Will do as I have purchased the Urkunde. By the way, are you particularly interested in (F)/120 as I have a bit on them in Poland and some of their more successful pilots?
