JU 88T-3 of 4.(F)/122. 1 dec 1944

I am an Italian historical researcher (not to work for hobby) and I live in Lodi northern Italy near Milano. For a long time I try the stories of the fallen pilots around my city during World War II, as the P / O Neville Mansell 237 sqdn RAF, Lt. John A. Wittenberger 57th FG and Capt. Boyd B. Chambers 86th FG ( you can see here:
http://www.archivilodigiani.it/wp-co...o-Chambers.pdf).
In book “Air War Italy 1944-45: The Axis Air Forces in Italy June 1944-May1945” by Nick Beale, and Ferdinando D'Amico, on 1 december 1944 1944 you can read:
“Near Lodi ( Mi) during the afternoon , 1st /kt Walter R. Hinton of the 527th FS, 86th FG, shot down a JU 88T-3 of 4.(F)/122 (W.Nr. 330227, F6+FM) which was unwise enough to be out before dark. Of its crew , only ofw. Erich Kramer was hurt however.”
For very long time I'm trying to find out something about this episode, but I do not find anything.
If you have any information about this incident, please, can you help me?
For me it is very important because it has happened in my city, then this is an episode forgotten.
if you have not information for me, please can you give me advice which documents to look for and where to look for: Imperial War Museum? NARA?
Many thanks. I do the best wishes for a happy new year.
Sergio

I'm not sure what else you want to know. You can read the War Diary of the 527th Fighter Squadron here (scroll down to page 251): http://86fighterbombergroup.com/docu..._P241_P280.pdf

Many Thanks Nick but I am already aware of the War Diary 527th and that was the Lt George Hill forced JU88 into the ground.
But I do not know where this happened. Not in my town: Lodi
what do you think if I try to look for D.O.R. the 527th? Where can I find the D.O.R. of the 527th?
For the 4.(F)/122 are there documents such as D.O.R.? Where can I try to look for these documents?

The claim information we had came from Dr. Frank Olynyk's lists, which gave the location as "K-3860, vicinity of Lodi". When we were writing the book there was no online map co-ordinate converter and no Google Earth. Now that reference (Square qK3860 on the North Italian Grid) can be converted to 45° 26' 10'' N, 9° 21' 57'' E, between Vigliano-Bettolino and Caleppio.

I don't know where to find the american documents you want but the USAF Historical Research Agency is a possibility.

I do not know of any surviving documents from 4.(F)/122 except the namentliche Verlustmeldungen (personnel casualty reports) held at the Deutsche Dienststelle in Berlin. It was from there that a German researcher obtained the information on this casualty for us, about 25 years ago.
