Ranger to Bourges, 12-12-43 help with losses.

Hi

On the 12-12-43 418 Sqn sent two Mosquito VI's on a Ranger to Bourges, France.
At 15:55 F/O J.R.F.Johnson, F/O N.J.Gibbons and F/L R.A.Kipp, F/O P.Huletsky claimed a He111 destroyed S of Bourges A/F, then at 16:00 they claimed another He111probably destroyed at Avord A/F.

The second He111 was from IV/KG4 and was 10% damaged in a low level attack(Tiefangriff) at Avord aerodrome.

I would like to know if possable the unit of the He111 that was claimed destroyed(it may not have been a He111 or evan lost) S of Bourges A/F.

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

David

Hi David:

Sounds like one for Dan Gilberti - his site's over at:

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/mk108/

His contact button is at the bottom of that page.

I've had a quick check of his 1943 crashes page at:

http://www.histavia21.net/HISTAV2/Cra1943.htm

There's nothing there currently, but who knows, he may be working on it.

Cheers,

Mark

Sorry ...

Thanks my friend for your interest and nice terms about my little work,
On this affair, i'm Sorry but Bourges Aéra is out the circle of my researchs,
essentially because i have no choice and need to fis limit my work, compilation and search in space and country, and no chance i have no datas about ...

Little and little i read and study "loss datas" from KG55, KG 51 more in my interest, for moment i have nothing to serious about KG 4, and many things to
study about KG53 and 54 etc ...

All the best,
Bien amicalement, Dan

Hi Frederic:

Does this mean the 10./KG 77 aircraft which came down the same night was not attacked by Moran and Rogers?

(I see you've got their other claim as a 410.)

Re: Ranger to Bourges, 21-12-43 help with losses.

Bonjour Mark,

If we speak about December 12, 1943, there is no loss for the 10. /KG77. (I have only a loss for this ‘Staffel’ but on February 27, 1943). In December 1943 this ‘Gruppe’ is not any more at Bourges. The only 410 I have is lost on June 27, 1943 (Moran/Rogers claim).

Could you tell me more about the loss you are looking for?

Best regards,
Frederic

Re: Ranger to Bourges, 21-12-43 help with losses.

Bonjour Frederic:

Sorry for the confusion I've caused.

I was actually looking at the page you'd linked and ended up scrolling down to 26/27 June 1943, and the claims of Moran and Rogers. I actually had a note from one of your posts from the forum at the Mossie page about that night, which said the Ju 88 was of 10./KG77 - t"he airplane fell very close to the Bourges airfield but it came from Avord airfield."

But, given my current level of performance, I may have mis-interpreted the original post, too, and magically transformed 27 February 1943 into 26 June 1943...

Sorry,

Mark
