A kind user on RAFCommands forum pointed out the presence of microfilm copies of German/Luftwaffe records on the Canadian Microfilm archives. He selected the following few, but there are more.

http://heritage.canadiana.ca/view/oo...2467/1?r=0&s=1

To investigate more of these, change the last digit(s) of the following URL to get to the front page:

http://heritage.canadiana.ca/view/oocihm.lac_reel_t2424

ie. http://heritage.canadiana.ca/view/oocihm.lac_reel_t2410 etc etc etc

If any German speakers could investigate these, see whats hidden in there.

Re: Luftwaffe files from Canadian Microfilm Archives online

Thank you very much Dennis for sharing this.

For an easier browsing use this link : http://heritage.canadiana.ca/view/oo...c_mikan_133187

And a brief description of the content : Microfilm reels T-2405 to T-2468 include German documents from the U.S. German Military Documents series and from the Air Historical Branch 6, British Air Ministry; war diaries of British and US army units and formations, 1944-1945; notes on Canadian Naval Board procedures, 1942-1943; Military District file lists; Canadian Medical Procurement and Assignment Board minutes of meetings, 1942-1951; "Japanese Studies in World War II - Naval Operations in the Northern Area"; Japanese documents translated by the US Army Historical Section; and German documents collected by A.G. Steiger. There are also files created by the DHH relating to the Royal Canadian Air Force, 1920-1968.

Re: Luftwaffe files from Canadian Microfilm Archives online

Hello Dennis,

Thank you very much for sharing this interesting link. It enables to fill up several blanks in my piles of paper copies. Wherever possible, I will use these digital files instead of all those volumous paper mass.

Best regards, Marcel

The majority of this material, if not all, was once held by D-HH, and transferred to LAC recently.
