Re: 365FS/385FG Airfield in April 24th 45

As far as I know there was no 385th FG but 365th FG, but this FG had no 385th FS...

Not to spoil things however, 365th FG was based at Fritzlar from 13 April 1945 till the end of July 1945.

On the other hand, 365th FS was in 358th FG, which was based at Sandhofen airfield (now Coleman Barracks, Mannheim) from 2 April 1945 till somewhere at the end of June 1945.

Grüss,

Leendert

Hi,
I am the historian of Coleman Airfield the former Fliegerhorst Sandhofen. Yes the group was here. leo Volkmer was one of the pilots and he worte a book about his time in the 358th during the war. His nickname was "the Baron". I had contacted him a few years ago when I worte a book about the airfield . In my book of Sandhofen airfield are several pictures from the group and their aircraft being here. Some are on my webpage: www.fliegerhorst-sandhofen-coleman.de

Take care
Dirk
