Re: Oberst Eduard Neumann
Hi Chris
Thanks for that, but I do have a little time now, so for everybody's benefit:- "Edu" was born in the Ukraine on 5th June 1911, and died on 9th August 2004. Never received the Ritterkreuz, but was awarded the DKiG on 11th May 1942, mostly for his leadership qualities rather than combat history i.e thirteen confirmed claims from 4th September 1937 until 30th November 1941. Is known to have tutored Hans-Joachim Marseille. Kind Regards Johannes |

Re: Oberst Eduard Neumann
Hello Johannes.
I would like to say "Edu" Neumann has never "tutored" Hans-Joachim Marseille. The only thing he did, and it is more important, is to understand who was H-J Marseille, the man behind the pilot. Edu was like a protector, against some pilots who dislike the manners of Marseille. What it is sûre, Edu has always trusted "Jochen" Even if sometimes it was difficult to accept some behaviors of this outstanding pilot. By advance thank you.
