Jimmy Crossman - Another one for TOE
LtCdr James Crossman DSO AFC. a pilot with 804 (and maybe 891) Squadrons in Operation Torch, before leading 894 Squadron in the Pacific in 1945. He claimed three victories (one shared with a Hellcat of 1844 Squadron) on 29 January 1945.

I have only seen claims for one plus one shared for Crossman on 29 Jan 45. Air War for Burma only mentions the Ki 21 shared with the Hellcat, while both David Brown in The Seafire and Sturtivant in FAA Aircraft 1939 to 1945 say that Crossman then shot down a Ki 48. Sub-Lt. K.A. Ward, also of 894 Sqn., was credited with 2 Ki 21s. Regards, Tom |
