Fate of Fw. Ewald Goldmann, 12./KG 76 on 27. April 1945?
Good afternoon,
From Jan Horn, KG 76 Die Chronik des Kamfgeschwaders 76 in Zeitraum 01. 01. 1944 bis 08. 05. 1945, (2019), p. 303: "27. April 1945… Eine Ar 234 C-3 stürzt beim Überführungsflug auf dem Flugplatz Pocking bei Passau ab. Der Flugzeugführer Goldmann übersieht beim Landeangflug gegen die Sonne Eine Hochsannungsleitung. …" In Horn's appendix of KG 76 personnel, on p. 414, he identifies a "Fw. Goldmann Ewald 12./KG 76" without crew position. I think it is reasonable to assume that this is the pilot that Horn refers to above, concerning the transfer of III./EKG 1 from Pilsen to Pocking. I would like to know if Goldmann survived this crash. best regards, Jim |
