German parachutist lost 7/8 September 1940

Hi guys

Here's tricky one!

Apparently on the night of 7/8 September 1940, a German agent was dropped by parachute but unfortunately fell into the Manchester Ship Canal near the Mersey estuary, and was drowned.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Brian
