242 Sq patrol 22/01/1941

Good afternoon

Three a/c from 242 Squadron took of from Martlesham at 14:00 on 22/01/1941 to patrol a light cruiser and a submarine proceeding north 15 miles off Southwold.

Can anyone identify these vessels? I've already checked naval-history.net and checked for any obvious shipping movements that day without success.

Cheers

James
