U.S. Army Air Corps goodwill visit Europe 1930 - info request
Esteemed forum members;
I understand that in June/July of 1930, a number of U.S. Army Air Corps Curtiss Wright aircraft undertook a goodwill tour to a few European cities. On 22 June 1930, three U.S. Army Air Corps Curtiss Wright fighters visited Tallinn, Estonia, as a part of a larger European tour. To date, I have not been able to locate any additional details re this event. If I can be pointed in the right direction to locate the following information, I would be most thankful: - What were the exact dates of the 1930 goodwill tour and which European cities were visited? - How did the U.S. airplanes reach Europe from the United States? - Which specific Curtiss Wright a/c were used for this tour? - Which U.S. Army Air Corps squadron did the aircraft belong to? - Do photographs exist, showing the aircraft in question - as they appeared on their goodwill tour? Thank you very much in advance. Regards; Arvo L. V. |
