Quick FW 190 JG 2 question - black 13

Hi guys -

My husband does RC aircraft, and one of his new projects coming up is the Kyosho FW 190 - with JG2, black 13.

http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/r...duct_id=103143

My question is, since I'm the one that usually paints the pilots......

Who flew that one?

Thank you very much.

Re: Quick FW 190 JG 2 question - black 13

Hello Red Baroness,

Unfortunately I also cannot determine the name of that pilot - but according to the fuselage markings in all probability this should be fighter-#13, 8th Staffel, III. Gruppe.
Maybe this helps any further and someone else knows more?

Looks like this example, scanned (along with its caption) from "Luftwaffe Codes, Markings & Units 1939-45" by B.Rosch [Schiffer, 1995]. No pilot ID, but hopefully the photo may enable somebody else to confirm...

Cheers

The aircraft, a Fw 190A-3, serial number 2181, was lost due to engine failure on 4 Feb 43 near Vannes and the pilot successfully bailed out. No name is given. The aircraft was photographed for the Deutschen Wochenschau with two U/I pilots playing chess.
