Seeking history of Ju87B-1 W.Nr. 414

Hello,

I'm trying to track a history of Ju87B-1 W.Nr. 414, to determine what happened to it, and possibly any units with it was known to be associated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

The site stammkennzeichen.de has it with I./StG 101 in March 1943, but does not mention the exact source..

Christian

Hi Lino,
If your confirmation is based on information received from „Gemeinschaft der Flieger deutscher Streitkräfte e.V.“, it is not a real confirmation, because their info comes from my loss database, which is based on NVMs. Maybe you have another source, which would be nice to know.

Regards from Finland,

Matti

Re: Seeking history of Ju87B-1 W.Nr. 414

Hi Matti,
i'm currently at work in the office. I'll check tonight or tomorrow the origin of my sources. I can remember having been in contact for this research also with Mr. Göbel. Finally i was croschecking, at least concerning the AC's involved in my research, all my sources with the informations of GQM records, as we have collected almost all available GQM info. Regrettably only paper copies, so not as much comfort for research as you have :-)

BTW: Do you know, if Alakurtti was part of Finland in WWII?

Regards from bavaria

Lino

Re: Seeking history of Ju87B-1 W.Nr. 414

Hello Matti, Christian and Lino,

My interest in this W.Nr. is not related to the unit with which it was lost, but 9./StG51, with which I believe it served as 6G+AT (the StaKap a/c ?) during the 1940 Western Campaign. The numbers are a little fuzzy in my photos, so this could also be W.Nr.474 or 434. Would you be willing to check those numbers against your data bases as well to see if they show up anywhere? This is for color profile work for the EOE Project.

Regards,

Re: Seeking history of Ju87B-1 W.Nr. 414

@Larry, sorry, i have never worked with a focus on StG 51, so i don't have usefull information about.

@Matti,
i was checking the details and sources, so main source GQM and Volksbund:
Militärarchiv Freiburg, Akte RL 2 III / 775, Seite 31, lfd. Nr. 13
(Hauptquartier, den 31.03.1943)
Luftflotte 3:
24.03.1943 > St.G. 101 > bei Frejus > Absturz, Aufschlagbrand, > Junkers Ju 87 B1,
Werk-Nummer: 414 (0414) > Bruch 100% > Besatzung (2) gefallen (+)
Flugzeugführer: Feldwebel Nagel, Heinz (+)
Bordfunker: Unteroffizier Voll, Heinz (+)
Aktenbezeichnung:
Flugzeugunfälle bei Schulen und sonstigen Dienststellen.
Mitte März 1943 bis Ende Juni 1943.
Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräber:
Nagel, Heinz, Feldwebel, * 24.10.1919 / + 24.03.1943
Kriegsgräberstätte Dagneux, Endgrablage: Block 42, Grab 55.
Voll, Heinz, Unteroffizier, * 09.08.1916 / + 24.03.1943
Kriegsgräberstätte Dagneux, Endgrablage: Block 42, Grab 54.

Together with a research friend of mine, Klaus Fischer, we have ordered a while ago the GQM records. If you want to compare one day some NVM records to GQM records, please let me know. (In case, you don't have the GQM records as well). But finally you are right, i also received some very usefull information for this Ju87 research from „Gemeinschaft der Flieger deutscher Streitkräfte e.V.“.
Now i know their source :-) So also thanks to you, Matti.

Regards from bavaria

Lino
