Do 217s Captured at Beldringe May 1945

Photos show at least 3 Do 217 M-1s captured at the above Danish airfield of which one was coded +HK. Some say this was U5+HK (disbanded in August 1944), some say that it was 2 Nachtaufklärungsstaffel. Also M-1 Wk Nr 56158 became Air Min 107 and +HK 56527 became Air Min 106-were there others details?

Six Do 217 M were listed as captured at Beldringe - 2nd TAF Report B-198 - no details given as had become pretty much standard practice by this stage. A further Do 217 M was captured but listed as unserviceable owing to a damaged landing gear (and as such was 'available for spares').

All Do 217 M at Odense belonged to 2/Nachtaufklärungsstaffel. One was K7+MK, but some of them still carried the Vkz from KG 2.
Another was coded +FM, wich may be one of the former KG 2 birds.

Anything to do with Denmark, it's always best to ask Jörn first!

So it was U5+HK not K7+HK Jörn? The one captured at Copenhagen was definitely K7+. Camo not typical of KG 2 so if resprayed, why not change the codes?

No it was K7+HK.
Do you have a clear picture of the Copenhagen bird.

Jörg: Photo shows it alongside a building with a Ju 88 behind. Code is K7+LH. Wk Nr on tail in white but not clear. No idea where it came from-found amongst Alfred Price's photos
