Unit establishment scales

Does anyone know what type of unit establishment scale 1144 (L) referred to? From the context, I think it's a fighter Gruppe but I'd appreciate confirmation.

Thanks.

Re: Unit establishment scales

Perhaps in line with this question, has anybody documentation which positions there were in a Jagdgruppe in mid 1944 (like NO, Chef der Stabskompanie, Ia etc) and how many officers, NCO, and men they were authorized to have? I am looking for a 4-Staffel Gruppe late 1944. And as a follow on also for the Staffel......

John:

If copies of 1144 (L) survived the war, they would be in Signatur RL 2 III/573 at BA-MA. Many of the KStNs did survive, so it may be worth it to contact them.

Happy New Year to Nick, John and All.

Re: Unit establishment scales

A usable expression to-day is Unit Establishment i.e. the authorized strength of the unit in personnel and materiel.

Hence the German "Sollstarke", the strength (Starke) you should (soll) have.

Re: Unit establishment scales

Kriegsstärkenachweisung (KStN) = Authorized War Establishment Allowance, i.e., personnel by rank and function, number of weapons, number of vehicles authorized for a particular type of unit . Usually 3 to 6 pages.

Kriegsausrüstungsnachweisung (KAN) = Authorized War Equipment Allowance/Schedule, i.e., a detailed breakdown of each and every piece of equipment authorized for a particular type of unit. Usually 10 to 60 pages.

Almost all of these are for Trupp-, Zug-, and Kompanie/Staffel- size units. So, for a Gruppe, Abteilung or Bataillon, several different ones would apply and these would have to be added together. Sort of like putting building blocks together.
