Si 204 KL+QC W.Nr. 321497

Hello,

Does anybody know where Si 204 KL+QC W.Nr. 321497 was found at the end of the war? The last 3 digit of the W.Nr. were painted on the stabilizer and the St.Kz. was black with a white outline.

Thanks,

Roger

Roger—

Several years ago I received a copy of a post-hostilities photograph of this Siebel 204 from James V. Crow. The photograph noted that the aircraft was found at Heuburg/Bayern.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Well, Roger, it looks like a typographical error in Jim Crow's or my recording of theSiebel location in the James V. Crow photograph.

There doesn't seem to be any "Heuburg" in Bavaria. I'll bet that this is a typo for "Neuburg."

Hans, Leendert, et al.

Thank you so much for our posts. I confess that I have truly muddled the search for ""Heuberg." After my last post, ook at Larry de Zeng's online site for Luftwaffe Airfields (Germany), and I found Oettingen/Heuberg, which appears to be the airfield where the Si 204 in question was found.

Thank you all again for your understanding. The blunders and ineptitude are mine alone.

Hello RA,

Thank you very much for this information. I would have had a hard time to find the location, if I had managed at all as there is very little to be seen in the background of the Si 204 (landscape features, buildings). The photo was provided to me by the son of a veteran and I am sure he will be glad to know where his father took it.

I met James Crow about 3 years ago at his home, but I am sure most TOCH members know by know that he sadly passed away last year.

Hans and Leendert,

Thank you for the details about Heuburg. It's an airfield that I have not come across before during my research.

Regards,
Roger
