abschüßebord 7./JG 51

Hi Guys

The mikrofilms have a sheet missing from the earlier typed-out pre August 1942 type. However I do have a photograph of the abschüßebord 7./JG 51, but it appears to show the second section only claims 51-55 which were not recorded on the mikrofilms, does anybody have a photo of the first or any other of the series.

This should yield some very interesting information that I would be grateful for.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Re: abschüßebord 7./JG 51

Johannes,

Do you mean three photos of the abschüßebord 7./JG 51 covering period 01.09.1939 to say October 1940? I would have the copies.

Regards,
Sinisa

Re: abschüßebord 7./JG 51

Hi Sinisa

Many, many thanks.

I'll spend the day scrutinising them. Of interest is a few on the second sheet that are chronologically out of place, i'm guessing they are A.S.M, also with regards to another thread about panzer as claims, which got extended to fessel ballon there are two here that are not counted as "air victories.

I'll get back to TOCH about exactly what is missing from the mikrofilms regarding 7./JG 51, by memory it's a sheet or two in the middle, this extends into Russia 1941, but I would guess what you have kindly given me is all there is.

Thanks again.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Hi Johannes,

You are very welcome. Glad that I could assist in the matter. Will be interested to read your further assessment here on the TOCH.

Sinisa

Re: abschüßebord 7./JG 51

Hi Sinisa

I have checked the mikrofilms earlier typed-out sheets for 7./JG 51, there were six, of which four have survived:-

Sheet 1 claims 001-014 23rd March 1940 until 22nd June 1941
sheet 2 claims 015-042 this sheet missing
sheet 3 claims 043-072 22nd June 1941 until 30th June 1941
sheet 4 claims 073-102 this sheet missing
sheet 5 claims 103-132 22nd June 1941 until 27th October 1941
sheet 6 claims 133-142 9th September 1941 until 21st July 1942(date when the daily handwritten mikrofilms begin)

Earlier 7./JG 51 was 1./JG 20. Sheet 6 indicates that there are no further missing sheets, therefore there are fifty-eight claims missing, of which with your kind help with the abschüßebord of 7./JG 51 and reliable data about Werner Bielefeldt and Hermann Staiger I have found some thirty-seven of these, leaving twenty-one unaccounted for.

As you can see each sheet doesn't exactly follow the previous, and often the claims are chronologically mixed-up, so it's impossibly to tell exactly around what period the missing ones belong, but unlikely 1940, most likely ALL or at least most are missing from 1941, of which the vast majority will be over Russia.

Drop me a personal e.mail if you would like the 7./JG 51 mikrofilms data.

Kind Regards

Johannes
