Oblt. Jost Kipper 4/JG3

Hello all

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know if an image exists anywhere of Oblt. Jost Kipper who was shot down by S/L Townsend of 85 Sqn on the 29th August 1940 in Bf109E 1134.

I would be very interested If anyone has a picture or knows of any publication that might have one, I've been searching with no success.

His Unit was 4/JG3 if that helps at all

Cheers

(I previously submitted this request a few years ago, but thought i'd give it another go).

Nothing in any of Jochen Prien's books apart from a statement that Kipper was leading 4 Staffel at the time of his death following Hptm Alfred Müller's wounding on 16 Aug 40 and had the one kill only (on 26 Aug 40). I know that some photos from II./JG 3 have just been purchased by a member of this Forum but the photos are generally uncaptioned. It would appear that unless you trace family, you have gone as far as you can

Re: Oblt. Jost Kipper 4/JG3

Harri109,

Hello, In the EoE photo DB, I have a photo of Kipper or Müller's 109 on a French AF, probably during the BoB, and two photos of Kipper's crash wreckage in Britain, but none of Kipper himself. I'm aware of the photo collection Chris refers to above, which includes a number of pilots and leaders from the unit, but there is almost no way of identifying pilots who we don't know what they look like.
