if anyone could help with Informations about a Lancaster Loss from

22. March 1944 near Giessen in Germany

(Hptm. Paul Zorner 8./NJG 3 Lancaster near Giessen: 5.900 m. 21.43 Film C. 2025/I Anerk: Nr.57)

all you search you will find in the book about the Airwar in the Landkreis Gießen. Pictures of the Crew, of Zorner and so on.

Don't know if this is the one you want but it's the only loss I can find that mentions Giessen

22 - 23 March 1944

578 Squadron
Halifax III LW540 LK-R
Op. Frankfurt

Took off at 1843hrs from Burn. Homebound, shot down from 21,200 feet by a JU 88, patrolling in the vicinity of Giessen. With the starboard wing well alight the crew baled out at around 17,000 feet. All pow.
