3./KG100
Hi,
When cross checking the books of JL Roba (KG 100 Wiking...) and S.Parry (the Last Blitz) I came across the crew of Oblt. Karl-Heinz Reper. They were shot down on a transfer flight and crashed near Rheine (Germany) on Wednesday 28th of March 1944. In the Last Blitz the crew was with 3./KG 100, hence the code of the plane: a He 177A-3, 6N+TL. But in the loss list in KG 100 Wiking they belonged to the Stab. - I./KG 100. What could be possibly correct, that due plane/crew shortages crews could use machines from other staffel. But what's really puzzles me is that in the 'Personnel of KG 100' index JL Roba they are recorded as belonging to 2./KG 100? The 4 groundcrew members flying as guest belonged to 3./KG 100. So could it be a 2./KG 100 crew flying a 3. Staffel plane in the Stab? Sounds very odd to me, since it was a transfer flight. Looking forward reading your ideas. Kind regards, Dirk |
