Fw. Wolfgang Ohl

Hello all,

Fw. Wolfgang Ohl, a successful member of 1./JG 51 with at least 9 claims was killed after bailing out near Zoppot (Sopoty) due to engine failure on 21 December 1944. Does anybody have any further information about his loss (such as subtype of Bf 109G, Werknummer, tactical code...)? Many thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Fw. Wolfgang Ohl

A photo album of Wolfgang Ohl is on eBay here. I assume it was put together by his wife after his death. It is quite an emotional set of photographs. As well as some good Bf109 pics and other JG51 related photographs there are a large number of family related photos. It ends with photographs of the dead pilot in his coffin. I sincerely hope that the buyer respects this album and those seen in it, and keeps it intact rather than splitting it up and trying to resell the Bf109 photos.

Regards

Ian
