Re: B-24 lost on May 18, 1944?
Interesting enough, found 3 further photos of the same crash! Not good photos, but still produce a little information: on one the USAAF emblem is seen on the the side of the plane. There is no number on the other tail as well. And on one of the photos there is text on the back side:
August 1944, downed near Biala Slatina /town in Central-Northern Bulgaria/. - of course, that hand written entry may be wrong. While I find no plane crashed in its location, there are several crashed on different dates at various villages more or less close to it. |
