Re: Günther Bertram

Hi guys,

I share the interest of Johannes in Günther Bertram.
Unfortunately, his family name is also a given name, which makes it difficult to read up on him.
He was born in 1920 like the mathematician of the same name, but on a different date.

Cheers,

Michael

From his accounts I'd have thought a few of his claims would be U2 and R5 biplanes supplying partisan groups located behind the front lines - one of the reasons for using the slow He 111 (and Fw 189).

Re: Günther Bertram

Good evening FalkeEins,

in my Günther Bertram claim list I find only two R-5's and no U-2's.
However, this list might lack one claim in the He 111.

Cheers,

Michael

Re: Günther Bertram

Good afternoon FalkeEins,

yes that excludes this conjecture. Thank you.
Did he mean his Lancaster kill on 10/11Apr1945 when he wrote that ?

Have a good weekend,

Michael

Re: Günther Bertram

...the research of Johannes Matthews and Theo Boiten has revealed two more:
29,6.43 R-5
26,2,44 DB-3
Still only three missing.
Is Günther Bertram still alive?

Re: Günther Bertram

I find Bertram's given name sometimes spelled a "Günther" and sometimes as "Günter". which is correct ?
