Re: Correct designation of Lichtenstein radar

FuG is a simplification of the german usage with either spaces (Fu G 218) or full stops (Fu.G. 218) inbetween type and number

Thank you very much for this interesting document Jörn. Even though proposed in this document, Streuwelle II was never introduced according to an Allied post-war intelligence report (that was based on the interrogation of a high-ranking E-Stelle Werneuchen man). Streuwelle I possibly after March 45 (although I don't know if and how many nightfighters were still produced after March 45). Streuwelle III was also never introduced as it fell within a frequency band of Freya Insel C, which was - as your document states - jammed already in May 44 by jamming transmitters.

Do you have any other BAMA documents that mention the Streuwellen?

Thanks,

Roger

Re: Correct designation of Lichtenstein radar

Hello

According to Fritz Trenkle, Lichtenstein SN 2 Streuwelle 1 (64 MHz) and 7 (116 MHz) equipments were produced, and at least tested. But he does not state if they were operationnaly used. For Streuwelle 1, the antennas had to be modified (too short elsewhere).

They are not mentioned in the 125/1945 Felkin report (available at cdvandt.org)

Regards

Jean Schreiber

I know it's been a long time Junkers, but it looks like the document you shared in your post above is no longer there. Could you repost it please?
Thanks!

He can’t, unfortunately. See this thread: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=63061

Some of the relevant Bundesarchiv documents are now online and you can find a list of systems as at 1 January 1945 on File RL 2-V/172.

(If you need instructions for how Bundesarchiv online system works, go to the 12 O'Clock High search facility. Entering "Invenio" will take you to what you need.)
