Sgt Beaumont 91 Sqn

The above was on the Sqn Jan-Feb 42 but I cannot see him after then. Anyone have anything on this pilot like initials or Christian name?

Re: Sgt Beaumont 91 Sqn

Hello,

Bit of a clue:

14.02.1942 Operation Fuller.

91 Squadron.

I (S/L Bobby Oxspring), was still not sure of the identity of the big ships, but after we landed Sergeant Beaumont was convinced that one of them was the "Scharnhorst". Before becoming a pilot he had served in the RAF Marine Section at Gosport and had seen the "Scharnhorst" at a pre-war Naval review.

See:
Spitfire Command.
Bobby Oxspring G/C. DFC, AFC.
London:William Kimber,1984.
p.102.

Several mentions of Beaumont, but no indication of forenames.

Col.

Chris,

I thought so. It was a clue for others to chew on!

Beaumont is also mentioned in Peter Hall's, No 91 'Nigeria' Squadron (Osprey Aviation Elite No.3) page 34, but no mention in the index.

Col.
