Only a P-47 doing a crash-landing in Metz on New Day 45
Most of the above list is from the USAAF Overseas accident report list available on the Web: http://www.aviationarchaeology.com/s...y/Jan1945O.htm Replace Jan1945 by the month you're interested in. I'm working currenlty only on October 1944 and is gathering data over airlosses, but only in this time period. |

11th October 1944 Auster loss
Thanks for the input.
This was an RAF/RCAF Loss from 443 Squadron. The a/c was found in the Deurne area burnt out. F/O L.P.E.Piche and F/O A.J.Horrell were both killed. The only one that I think fits is Auster V NJ669 that in Air Brit NA100-NZ999 is noted as SOC on the 11-10-44 with 127 Wg. Any other info welcome as someone else has said thet it was a captured Bu131 that they were in. Alex |
