Robert,

1.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 31
Hptm. Harald Stainer: 1939-40.

2.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 31
???????: 1939 - Jan 40
Hptm. Alfred (Alf) Giesse (9 Jan 40 - 6 Jul 40)
Hptm. Helmut Sorge (9 Jun 40 - 22 Oct 40)

That's all I have for that time frame, 1.9.39 - 31.12.40.

Hi Larry,

thanks for this!
The first squadron leader of 1.(H)/31 was Hptm. von ???. I`m still looking for his name.

Regards

Robert

For 1.(H)/31 I had Hptm Alberti, but no clue whether he would have been before or after Stainer (or maybe entirely wrong).

Cheers, Pieter

Robert and Pieter H. -

You are correct.............this is right out of deZeng/Stankey Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries! I was just too lazy yesterday to do a search through it. Robert can search this data base on www.ww2.dk using 1.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 31 and 2.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 31 to see if there are any more.

Maj. Friedrich Alberti:
08.03.40 appt Staka 1.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 31. 19.08.40 trf to Koluft 2.
