5 February 1944 : about a *German loss / West France

Hi,

On 5 February 1944, Capt. Beaird (55th FG/38thFS) claimed a destroyed Me 109 "as it toof off from aidrome east from Chartres" ...
Please :can we obtain information about :
- the exact place of the crash.
- the Germann pilot and his a/c ..

I have JG 2 losing aircraft at Artenay, Orleans and Auxerre? Chartres was home for the training unit JG 105?

JG 105 did not report any losses that day due to fighter operations.

Yes you are right ... JG 2 casaulties are rather far from Chartres and I did not find any losses for JG 105.
55th FG claimed : 1 Me 109 destroyed and one damaged on that day ...

does have got copies of flugbuchen showing the mission of 5 February 1944 missions : JG 2 and JG 26 ?
