Denea & Stig - The DL+DQ marking is consistent with the practice of identifying field equipment (canopy-covers - engine covers) in relation to the aircraft concerned.

Hi Tom

Yes I have seen some photos where I think tarpaulin has had such markings.

I always thought it was a way to mark a belonging, ie this item belongs to this aircraft and that they used the
STKZ as readily available identifier.

Not sure if you confirm or deny this here....?

I think on the tarpaulin cover for the cockpit in general they put the WNr, not the StKz.

The tarpaulin covers had both the W/Nr and Stkz details - it would seem that the take-off wheel dolly would most likely have been stowed with the aircraft some times but mostly at the operators base.
