Identifying missing and dead Luftwaffe airmen

Hi, guys.

I wanted to ask a question with regards to the lists (later in book form) published by the Red Cross. Did these books contain information about the Erkennungsmarke of the airman posted as missing?

I know that the NVM's do.

Regards,
Andreas

Re: Identifying missing and dead Luftwaffe airmen

Andreas,

no, the DRK-Bildlisten do not contain an EM-number. I believe the DRK does not have that information in general. Sometimes the DRK-files have the EM-number incidently, but most of time the EM is only known to the WASt. Even the VDK do not have this info. They always have to ask the WASt too....

At the WASt you can find that info in the NVM or on the EM-Lists.

cheers,

John.
