I/KG 2 loss

On 14/09/39 a Do 17Z was lost from this unit. Can someone tell me the pilot's name and whether the incident was as a result of an operational flight, or not.

Thanks in advance

Adam

Re: I/KG 2 loss

Hi Adam,

this was non operational flight. The plane crashed due to bad wheather conditions but the crew was safe. No data about the names, serial or code.

Re: I/KG 2 loss

The aircraft crashed at Insterburg and burnt out. Based on the Genst.Gen.Qu 6. Abt. One crewmember was WIA. During this time period crew names and aircraft markings and WNr. were not reported.

Sorry not much more,

Norbert

Hi,
please read it in my book Kampfflieger (published in Poland this year). Perhaps Ulf Balke knows more...
