Thanks! Interesting.

Night time was II./KG 54, all of KG 51, 806, II./LG 1 and KGr 100. What are you hoping to find out as precise targets were not listed? As to 28 Aug 40, KG 27, LG 1, I./KG 40, 806, KG 51 and KG 55 were involved
I am not so interested in the precise targets as to which cities and which units. Damage reports can be got from UK sources. More like Appendix 3 in your book.

What I produced in my book took a long time poring through the Luftflotte reports but if it is targets you want, suggest you look at the Blitz T&N for an easier task albeit units are not listed

OK but is is OK to say, roughly at least, that Luftflotte 2 and 3 more or less stuck to specific areas of the UK and if. say KG27 of Luftflotte 3, was bombing Liverpool in November, they were probably involved in earlier bombings in that area, since they were also in Luftflotte 3 in August at least.

Generally yes. If you were based in the west why would you take the risk of flying east over enemy territory when there were suitable assets in the east? Exception to this was London attacks & then you see some bomber units forward basing i.e. Kūstenfliegergruppe 606 flying from Brest to Cherbourg

ULTRA disclosed changes to the Luftflotte boundaries on 28 June 1940 but I don't know if they were amended again later:

CX/JQ/93, Teleprint 5 (paragraph 15)

At 2200/28/6 it was learnt that dividing line between Luftflotten 2 and 3 now runs as follows (numbers in brackets refer to the Luftflotten):

To Chichester as before. Then Reading (2) – Oxford (2) – Redditch (2) – Wolverhampton (2) – Stafford (2) – Stoke-on-Trent (3) – Buxton (3) – Halifax (2), then as before. (A).

Hi Mongoose44,

both Air Corps (I and II) were ordered to launch operation “Loge” – major attacks against port facilities and power stations in eastern London.

Regards

Robert
