BEAU/F data plate?
Found among a GI’s bring-back items is a small aluminum data plate marked…
TYPE “BEAU/F” SERIAL No “FMC” “4146” (or “4168”) Entries in quotes are die-stamped into the plate. TYPE and SERIAL No are printed or etched as per a manufactured olata plate. Thoughts, please, as to plate’s purpose, meaning of entries? Thank you, Steve Last edited by stephen f. polyak; 6th October 2024 at 03:44. |

Re: BEAU/F data plate?
Steve. This looks like a final inspection plate; assemblies and components were marked at the factory either by an Aeronautical Inspection Department (AID) official or a company inspector under AID authority. A metal stamp was used for identification of the Inspector with his registration number and (usually) a rubber inked one for other data. This is probably a small part rather than a major panel but all had to be signed-off.
