Bombloading of a Avro Lancaster B. Mk X

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!
I am looking for informations about the Bombload of the Lancaster B Mk X of No 432nd Group on March 5th/6th 1945.
My english isn´t so good but I read on these document:
21 x 4000 lbs HC and 7 x 500 lbs GP.
Perhaps her I can find one who have the informations about the originally Bombloading of these aircraft in these night.
Thank you very much and best wishes from germany, Dirk.

Looking at it closely I think there was an attempt at erasing the '2' before the 4000 Lb HC, especially as over 80,000 lbs. would have been more than a Lancaster could carry. Therefore I take it as 1 x 4000 lb. HC and 7x 500 Lb. GP.

Dirk,

the loss card of KB858 confirms 1 x 4000 lb HC and 7 x 500 lb GP.

Regards,

Alexander

Re: Bombloading of a Avro Lancaster B. Mk X

Thank you very much! I think it will be so, that it was 1 x 4000 lb HC and 7 x 500 lb GP. When the aircraft crashed the windows in the village of Oberweidbach in one mile distance break so we're think, that the bombs were on board. Do anyone know if a german nightfighter got a credit in these night (march 5th/6th 1945) on or about 8.20 pm?
Thank you and best wishes, Dirk.

Re: Bombloading of a Avro Lancaster B. Mk X

In their Nachtjagd War Diaries Vol II, Theo Boiten and Rod Mackenzie comes up with two answers

1) Maj Hubert Rauh who claimed a 4-engined aircraft at 20.22H, possibly KB858
2) Oblt Kurt Matzak who claimed a Halifax at 20.30H, possibly KB858

Either Theo will answer you here or you will have to wait until he and Red Kite publish the second edition. That may take a while

Cheers
Stig
