JU88C-6 Wnr 360316 Crash on 4.4.43 at Saint Cloud
Hi,
I am looking for information about this crash of JU88 Wnr 360316 from IV/KG40 on 4.4.43: location, crew names, etc.. it made a forced landing at Saint Cloud (West of Paris) because of engine troubles and was destroyed at 30%. It would seem that the same aircraft disappeared later on in Biscay since I find a thread: Ju 88C-6, 360316, Schmiedberger, Uffz. Xaver, , 9.(NJ), ZG 1, , 2N+GT, , 10-Jun-44, KIA with crew, probably shot down by S/L Jepson of 409 Sq. , FR, Goss, Bloody Biscay, p.241; Vasco, The Sting of the LW, p.150, , North of Le Havre, 100%, F Do you think possible that a 30% destroyed JU88 be repaired and fly again ? Yes, not destroyed. Give Google translate a break, please.
KG 40 Damaged 30% Er (repair/needing parts "repair on factory level"). It went to JFM GL FRB Villacoublay, Paris, for repair - ready 17.11.43. Again (for overhaul or small repair) in 05.44. III/ZG 1 2N+GT lost 10.06.44. (F Uffz. Xavier Schmiedberger, BF Uffz. Heinz Masmeier and BO Gefr. Erwin Lamla killed) PS: 50-80% usually not repaired. depends if it can be recovered; France yes usually repaired if below 60%. Last edited by edNorth; 21st May 2018 at 20:57. Reason: typo |
