An RAF pilot, F/Lt. Desmond F.W. Hinton, in an F-84E, serial 51-664 was hit by ground fire on the 2nd of January 1952 while serving with the 9th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 49th Fighter Bomber Group USAF. He ejected but the chute failed and as he was in a white flying suit and this was over snow covered ground North of Sunan and he could not be traced by the other pilots.
