Fw 190 A-2 Wk Nr 0318

Does anyone have a fate for this ac? Photos show it sporting 6 kill markings on the rudder and an assumption it was from 3./JG 2

From George Morrison:
190 A-2 WNr. 120318, with IV/JG 5 overturned 11.12.1943 during takeoff at Fl.Pl. Gossen, 25% damaged.
190 A-3 WNr. 130318 of the 10./JG 5, Fw. Martin Drößler died 10.04.1944, parachuted over the sea. No Kennung listed in either of these reports.

Should this be interpreted the aircraft was modified at some point from A-2 to A-3, or did it in fact exist two production lines? One with A-2 and one with A-3?

I always thought the two sub-versions were produced at the same time, either as A-2 or A-3, and if actually modified did the aircraft in such a case really get a new plaque?

Cheers
Stig

Thanks for this. Looking at the photo it appears to be more Scandinavian in the background. 25% damage and then repaired and converted to A-3 spec in 4 months? Kennzeichen appears to be black (matching spinner) but no chance of working out what it is

May be just a clerical error. Otherwise, aside from, perhaps, the case of engine spare parts delivery (not sure how much did the BMW 801 C differ from the D variant and whether it needed different lubricants, etc.), was this really important? The fuel type needed for each sub-variant appears to be the same.
