JFV 12/II

Gentlemen,

this is to inform you that JFV 12/II has gone to the printer, regardless of the issue still pending which is the subject of the thread Larry Hickey has started a couple of days ago regarding an emblem in use by I./JG 52. Since any possible solution to this problem will only affect the appendix to Vol. 12/II the printed manuscript can be adapted accordingly up to the last minute.

Vol. 12/II will comprise some 512 pages with about 240 photos; it will cover the rest of JG 51 - i.e. III. and IV./JG 51, 13.(Pz.)/JG 51 and 15.(span.)/JG 51 - as well as the Stab and I. - III./JG 52. At the end there will be an appendix with quite a number of additions and corrections referring to the previous volumes.

I hope that given the oncoming Christmas season the book will be out by mid February 2013.

Vol. 12/III will then cover the rest of JG 52 and all of JG 54 with subordinated units. We're working on it to bring it out by the end of 2013 not only to close the chapter dealing with the east in 1943 but also to return to our schedule of two volumes per year. After all we're not getting younger and this series has been going on now for almost 13 years.

Regards

Jochen Prien

Re: JFV 12/II

There is a error on page 85 of JFV 12/I that might not have been pointed out yet.

05.07.43 Uffz Eduard Bartsch 4./JG 3 claimed a Pe-2 (2) at 61 622 (5 km N of Tomarowka). 61 622 and 5 km N of Tomarowka I saw couldn't be right and a quick check of Tony Woods list showed 61 322 which puts it in the area of the other claims of II/JG 3 that day and time.

Re: JFV 12/II

Gentlemen,

this is to inform you, that JFV 12/II after the usual hassle and delay is now in production and will be out around Apri 20th, 2013. We have got the opportunity to put on another 12 pages with photos so that it will now comprise 524 pages with some 270 photos. The extra pages are filled with a photo lot of JG 51 which arrived too late for JFV 12/I and shows a number of Fw 190s of Stab, Stabsstaffel and I./JG 51,all from 1943 in the east.

Work on JFV 12/III is well under way now.

Regards

Jochen Prien

Re: JFV 12/II

Gentlemen,

JFV 12/II has finally been released on Tuesday - I hope that you will be satisfied with the result. We are working hard on Vol. 12/III and are aiming at turning in the manuscript in September for a December release. Let's hope for the best.
