Danny,
I can't find him with 13 Sqn. He handed over the Adjt's job with 9 Sqn in Dec 35, when he was placed on the Retired List. He was a passenger on the 24 Sqn transport when it crashed near Wendover, having departed Belfast earlier that afternoon. Jonny |

Re: Did Squadron Leader John Forbes Andre DAY (02113) serve with 13 Squadron
He was not KIA but KIFA and being 52 at the time of his death makes him old to be a pilot in 1940, supported by him retiring in 1935

(John Harold) Day believed badly wounded, evacuated but died in hospital at Le Treport en route to England, May 20. Aircraft a write-off. See: The Battle Of France Then & Now/Cornwell/p.311. https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/fi...hn-harold-day/ https://discovery.nationalarchives.g...ls/r/C14502095 Col Last edited by Col Bruggy; 5th January 2022 at 09:59. |
