Fw 190 D-9, Werk 600424, "Red 1" JV 44
Hi!
I have a question about this aircraft. On page 18 in "Doras of the Galland Circus" by Jerry Crandall, there is a close up picture of "Red 1". The paint on the rear metal part of the canopy is heavily flaked. The headrest has a wedge-shape light area. If you compare this picture with the middle picture on page 16 in the same book, the canopy don´t look the same. The flaking is not so heavy, and the wedge-shape area isn´t there. There is a better picture on page 325 in "Focke Wulf Fw 190D, Camouflage & markings, part II" by JaPo publication, that showes the difference. Is it possible that someone have change the canopy?
