Re: Do 17 Crash Kleinfurra 17 Nov 39
Steve,
I have not found any detailed information on this collision between two 3./KG 77 Do 17 Z on 20.10.1939 at 13.25. There were two wounded: BO Oblt Josef Köckeis (died of his wounds on 22.10.1939) and BF Köller, but I don´t know if they were both in 3Z+EL or not. No WNrs or code of the the other Do 17 known. Re: Do 17 Crash Kleinfurra 17 Nov 39
Hi Matti thanks for responding , yes I have the same information.
I suspect we may never know? Chris, thanks ever so much for sharing this great photo. Interesting the prop spinner caps are not yellow as you might expect for a 3 staffel a/c. Unless its recently been delivered from the factory! Kindest regs, Steve. |

Re: Do 17 Crash Kleinfurra 17 Nov 39
The photo in post #8 shows a different aircraft.
That is the WNr.4179, the first Do 17Z manufactured by B&V. The plane was given after the test phase to GKS Faßberg in autumn 1939.
