4(F)./122 Loss 3 Jan 1942

Hello,

Can I ask for some assistance with the following loss please.

4(F)./122 lost a Ju 88 D-1 on 03/01/42 F6+DM (W.Nu. 1179) see attached extract from the loss return records dated 14/01/42.

Would be grateful for confirmation of the names of the crew which I believe to be:-

Lt Johannes Albrecht (B) - there are pencil comments against this name.
Uffz Rudolf Dietal (F)
Uffz Erich ???? (Bf)
Uffz Josef Hang? (Bs)
My copy of the loss return is, unfortunately, not easy to read.

Would be grateful for any other information on this aircraft and crew if possible.

This loss was recorded under Luftflotte 4.

Many thanks

Our 'version' of the crew names:
Uffz. Rudolf Dietl (F)
Ltn. Johannes Albert (B)
Uffz. Erich Enders (Bf)
Uffz. Josef Haag (Bm)

Perhaps Matti has more details on this loss, "location unknown."

Ju 8D-1 WNr.1179 (SKZ: SK+SA) was built at Bernburg in June 1941

Good luck in your hunt, GRM

The NVM has no other info. However, I have the following names from the EKM-list:
Flugzeugführer Uffz Dietel, Rudolf (also Dietl in the NVM)
Beobachter Lt Albert, Johannes
Bordfunker Uffz Anders, Erich
Bordschütze Uffz Haag, Josef
The names are sometimes difficult, when they are slightly different in the NVM and EKM-list.

Matti

Matti and GRM - a great many thanks for clarifying the names and adding
more info regarding the aircraft.

GRM

How written in stone is the STKZ for 1179? Reason I ask is that I have picked up 'somewhere' (probably here) that WNr 1181 was a mod D-1 (April/May 1941) with STKZ SK+SM....

Cheers
Stig
