Mark Steinitz is on a distinguished road
Walter Matoni

A number of sources indicate that Matoni was severly wounded in aerial combat sometime after joining JG 2 in late summer 1941. Does anyone know the date and circumstances of this encounter? I did not see evidence of it on the JG 2 loss list. Thanks.

Re: Walter Matoni

According to Obermaier, he was sent to 7/JG-2 on September 21,1941, so it must have been in the fall of 1941.
