Sicily, June 1943

I would need some confirmation.

What are the units (and how many planes) that took part in the bombing of Sicily on June 13, 1943 and June 17, 1943?

I have this data:

June 13, 1943
24 B-24 376th Heavy Bombardment Group
22 B-24 98th Heavy Bombardment Group
36 Spitfires 126,185,229 and 249 Squadron

June 17, 1943
B-24 376th Heavy Bombardment Group (how many?)
Dropped 232 bombs of 500 pounds 200 bombs of 100 pounds

Are there other data that you can provide to me?
Where can I find the data from these missions?

Thanks, Daniele.

Here is what you will need. However, I would first e-mail the Air Force Historical Research Agency (AFHRA) and ask them to check and make sure this file has the daily mission reports for 13 and 17 June 1943. If they do, you can discuss ordering options with them. The entire file placed on a DVR would cost $30 plus mailing cost, I think.

Thank you!

Do you have the book of 376th or 98th?
