Ramrod 239 23 September 1943 B-26 units

I prevously mistook this for Ramrod 240. RAF fghters escorted B-26s on a raid to Beauvais/Tille airfield in the afternoon. Can anyone tell me the USAAF groups involved?

Re: Ramrod 239 23 September 1943 B-26 units

D 8 AF Conches (am)

322BG B-26 35/36
387BG B-26 35/36

2 early returns

D 8 AF Beauvais Tillé (pm)

323BG B-26 34/36
386BG B-26 35/36

3 early returns
These are the US Groups going to these targets. The error might be which is Ramrod 239 and which 240, sometimes the numbers are not consecutive.

Regards

Martin

Re: Ramrod 239 23 September 1943 B-26 units

According to John Foreman the two Ramrods were in "number order" ie
Ramrod 239 was flown starting from 07.45H while Ramrod 240 was initiated from 14.50

He then mistakenly says that both B-26 missions were to Beauvais, but that is clearly at odds with everyone else who says just like Martin, Conches Ramrod 239 and Beauvais, Ramrod 240

Cheers
Stig
