Soviet Fighter Crimea '44
Hi,
I' dont read russian and maybe the information I'm searching for is available in some russian aviation sites. I'm interested in the number and type of fighter aircrafts used by soviet fighter units in Crimea-Black Sea area in the first months of 44. I have read the good "Dragons on bird wings" and known the 265 IAD with its 3 (291, 402 and 812) regiment on Yak 1-7-9 was there regards Alessandro |

Re: Soviet Fighter Crimea '44
Too many units were there: two Air Armies and Black Sea Fleet Air Force. All types of fighter aircraft were used.

Re: Soviet Fighter Crimea '44
Hm. Afaik, there were NO units equipped with La-5 in the area.
Apart from that, yes, nearly "everything": Yak-1,7,9 P-39, P-40 (latter in VVS-ChF) LaGG-3 and one mixed unit even with some MiG-3 . |
