Beaufighter JM403

First of all I would like to thank you for accepting me as a member.

There is a Beaufighter TF MK X coded JM403 which was shoted down by an Arado 196 over Aegean on 7th of November 1943. Does anybody know which squadron belonged, the names of the crew and their fate ?

Re: Beaufighter JM403

Hi and welcome!
There is a history of 47 Sqn "Under their own flag" written by Owen Clark. This book states that JM403 was lost on 6 November 1943 apparently it had the code letter 'F'. The crew are listed as F/Off Lewis Rossner 131150 and F/sgt Henry Kenneth Levy 656509 both were killed.
Best wishes
Steve

Re: Beaufighter JM403

Thank you very much Steve B. Can you please check if JM352 which shoted down the same day was coded "R" (as stated in ORBs) and if there are more details as well as for its crew S/Ldr. Charles Augustine Henry Cross Ogilvie (DFC 108168 RAFVR) and F/O Michael O'Connor, except that they returned to their squadron on 23 Dec?

Re: Beaufighter JM403

Hi
The book does give JM352 as 'R' but I guess that is likely to come from the ORB. As far as I can see the book does not give any additional information about Ogilvie and O'Connor but it mentions only Ogilvie returning to the squadron in December.
