Bf 110 WNr 179? 15./16.06.1944

Could someone provide some additional info about the crash of a Bf 110 WNr 179? of NJG 101 in the night form 15./16. June 1944 close to Lintach. The crew bailed out, the pilot died due to a damaged parachute. The hood was found at Etsdorf, i.e.the location of the bail-out. Thx in advance.

Regards

Fast as usual, Matti. Lots of thanks. Geiselhof is 1 km southeast from Lintach.
Concerning the WNr I was thinking of 480179. But 720179 fits better into the timeframe for a re-used nightfighter after damage and repair.

WNr. 720179 would definitely be a better fit since the WNr. 480179 shows up in the book Roba/Craciunoiu, "La Chasse de Nuit Germano-Roumaine". Uncertain as to how accurate that reported loss might though. Mr. Roba's information is usually pretty good.

Bf 110G-4, 480179, n.n., , IV., , NJG 6, , , , , 03-Jul-44, Damaged, cause unknown., , Nachtjagd Balkans, Roba/Craciunoiu, La Chasse de Nuit Germano-Roumaine, p.94, , Kecskemet, 20%, F, , ,

I think this makes it evident - WNr 720179 for this loss. Thx again, Jim and Matti
