Fieseler Fi 156, uncertain identity.

Hi
On eBay here there is a nice photo of a Fieseler Fi 156. The visible stkz is _K+KS. I have two possibilities;
BK+KS an Fi156A-1
CK+KS an Fi156C-2 WNr.4380

Can anyone determine which of these the photo is?

Regards

Ian

Re: Fieseler Fi 156, uncertain identity.

Not of much help, i guess - but i've seen this copy print of Fi 156 in a german propaganda book, titled "Der Sieg im Westen", published round about end of 1940. As far as i am not wrong at all.

Cheers
Norbert

Thanks Norbert, unfortunately the Fi156C-2 was in production by this time, so it still could be either aircraft.

Re: Fieseler Fi 156, uncertain identity.

Out of curiosity, were there any A-1s actually built? I'm no Fi 156 specialist but the old Luftwaffe Verband listing of Fi 156 doesn't mention any A-1s, only A-0 and then B-0...

Re: Fieseler Fi 156, uncertain identity.

BK+K is a Ju 88 S Skz row. So it can't be BK+KS.

Many thanks Junker, I got the BK+KS from the LEMB stkz database, so the error appears to be there.

Mikael, according to my sources only 6 of 16 ordered A-1 were built, so its no surprise that they are elusive....and this aircraft photo is not one of them!
