Good evening.

I would like to have informations and to know if it exist photos on Erich Hartmann's Bf 109 G-6 (Wnr 20485) white 2, between 5 July 1943 when he takes command of the 7./ JG 52 after the Accident of Walter Krupinski and the return of the latter on August 12, 1943, when the unit was based at Ugrim, Orel and Charkow North...

By advance Thank you.

Re: any infos about white 2 G-6 ?

Thank you very much Rottler.

Even I knew the loss report of this G-6 I didn't know that Toliver and Constable have spoken in their book. Do you know if there is a photo (I don't have the book) ?

Thank you again

Re: any infos about white 2 G-6 ?

Just curious, but what is the source for the G-6 WNr. 20485 being coded 'white 2'? None of the sources I have report a code for this machine (somewhat surprising since the plane came down behind enemy lines and Hartmann didn't return for 3 days or so). Sources: Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #11)-Vol.20; Prien, et al, Die Jagdfliegerverbände, XII.2, p.498; Barbas, III./JG 52, p.312; Fast, JG 52, IV, p.105; Obermaier, p.24

The Bf 109 G-4 14997 white 2 was flown by Lt Hartmann in May 1943 and was lost on May 28, 1943 with Uffz Herbert Meissler at the controls.
